We are the Ramblers: a vibrant community and the only charity dedicated to removing barriers so everyone can enjoy the pleasures of walking.

With so many of us sharing our love of walking with friends and family, we know how important it is to celebrate a life spent enjoying walking.

John, my Dad, loved walking around Snelston near Ashbourne, Derbyshire. I walked with him and my Mum in that location on a number of occasions and I was always inspired by Dad’s love of nature, the countryside and walking. Even when he became too disabled to walk, he would still venture out on his mobility scooter, albeit only on his own doorstep, at every opportunity to enjoy the outdoors. Miss him very much and think of him every time I walk near Snelston.
